Territory

Sant’antioco is an island located on the South-West coast of Sardinia in the Mediterranean sea. It extends for 108,8 square km and is connected to the mother island by means of a bridge. The South-Eastern part of the island is formed by low coasts and beaches repaired from the dominating North-West winds. A panoramic road leads to several beaches beaches like those of Maladroxia, Coequaddus and Turri (where an ancient tower dating back to the Spanish domination can be appreciated; see photographs).

From Cape Sperone to Scoglio Mangiabarche the Western rocky coasts are high vertical on the sea, apart from the beautiful Cala Sapone and Cala Lunga small bays.

The town of Sant’Antioco, on the East coast of the island, develops in a chaotic way on and around the ancient Phoenician center of Sulki, which gave its name to the entire region nowadays known as Sulcis).

Today Sant’Antioco offers its visitors a long, rich history besides an extraordinary Mediterranean environment characterized by a mild weather from April to November, a crystalline sea, enchanting coasts and wonderful beaches.
